Bought at an antique store in Northern California. Was told it was French and since the mattresses were shorter 100 years ago, I had a piece put on each side rail to accommodate a U.S. queen size mattress. Antique dealer told me recently that the bed frame is 1920's WALNUT BURL, NAPOLEON III STYLE. It's in excellent condition and ready to have your queen mattress inserted!
