About this log platform bed: Handcrafted from Lodgepole Pine and individually built to order Three drawers on each side of the bed The Log Bed comes complete with Headboard, Drawer Sections and robust platform support your mattress....no need for a box springs with this bed frame. Needs basic assembly: Headboard and Drawer Sections are Completely Assembled - Drawers come in two sections Natural Finish ( sanded smooth and ready for stain or varnish ) Headboard is laser etched with western design ( choose design at drop down menu)
Drawer sizes: 21" Wide, 16" Deep and 5.5" High Heavy duty full extension ball bearing drawer glides Bed Posts are about 5 1/2" to 7" in diameter Overall King Bed Measures 80 " wide , 91" long and 48" high (Mattress and bedding not included) Ships Free to the lower 48 states These Amish made platform storage beds are hand crafted of solid pine by the Amish in NW Montana. The six drawers are on heavy duty full extension ball bearing glides. The headboard has a western design woodburned into it with laser technique . These beds are the perfect fit for those rooms where you need to conserve space. We choose to work with lodgepole pine as it grows naturally in the forests of NW montana and is known for its superior strength to weight ratio. It is also straighter, thus making it easier to work the raw wood into the highest quality furniture possible. Our lodge pole pine is harvested in the Kootenai National Forest via a very selective process. Skilled woodsmen select each tree with an attentive eye toward the quality, straightness and size of each specimen. After felling, each piece is hand carried to the road to ensure both the tree and the environment remain unharmed. Then each log is hand peeled , using the skip-peel method where some of the inner bark is left on, creating a beautiful rustic piece of furniture for your bedroom. There is often some checking in the logs which is a natural occurrence with lodge pole pine, but it does not affect the strength and durability of the bed. It actually adds character to them. There is some assembly required to assemble these beds. The drawer sections are assembled and so is the headboard and end cap. They are heavy, so you might want to have help on hand to get it put together then. Mattress is not included.
