Cabinet Photo Heyn Omaha, NE; c. 1892; M. Murthin, Baby Toga This is a 6.5" x 4.5" cabinet photo of Minnie Murthin circa 1892. She looks bewildered in her baby toga. She sits upon a large velvet chair with satin trimming. The photograph is by George Heyn 317 South 15th Street Omaha, Nebraska in Douglas County. Photo is in good condition. It shows evidence of age, wear, foxing, various marks, creases, rubbing to extremities and worn corners. Please inspect photos to insure condition is to your liking. We have a collection of items surrounding Murthin (from Sweden, settled in San Francisco), Petersen (from Sweden) and Leslie Rowell from Spokane, Washington. Peter Murthin owned a watch and jewelry shop in downtown San Francisco, which he started circa 1895. Previously, he lived in Karlskrona, Sweden until 1890 and then immigrated to the United States shortly thereafter. He seemed an avid outdoorsman and had also built the Yacht, Neptune. He was a member of the San Francisco Yacht Club, based out of Sausalito. Evelyn Murthin attended UC Berkeley from 1916 – 1920 and was active in their theatre group.
