Antique Victorian GOLD METAL MESH Petite COIN BAG w TORTOISE SHELL FRAME/ Rhinestones PRISTINE ANTIQUE CONDITION FROM HOME OF ORIGINAL OWNER CIRCA 1900 This antique Mesh Petite COIN EVENING BAG PURSE belonged to my Grandmother who was born in 1880. She would have used it to hold a coin or two when she attended a dance or evening party. She was a nurse and used it when attending her Hospital's Annual Ball. Women held these with a finger, or attached them with a brooch to a gown's skirt, or hooked them to a long necklace. This bag was stored in my Grandmothers's dresser drawer, as I remember from my childhood in the 1950's, and then given to me. I have kept it stored and taken it out only to look at since those days to admire and dream. This tortoise shell framed GOLD mesh petite scalloped- edged Bag is really lovely and very feminine.
