Do you know an Emma? Including old wood frame (with double design routed along inside edge), piece is 15" x 19" The consignor was a collector of Currier lithographs but this one has no identification. I peeked under the frame to see the bottom edge, where Nathaniel Currier and subsequently the firm of Currier & Ives would identify their name and address below the title of the lithograph. This one is cut off just below the matting so only the title "EMMA." remains. Our lovely Emma looks like an aristocratic young beauty with a faceted pink gem (or is it a cameo) dangle earring, a plumed burgundy chapeau, and a tan jumper over a blue blouse. Please look closely at the photos before bidding, there are some spots and folds on the lithograph. Your purchase supports the Port Jefferson Historical Society Consignment Shop - thank you!
